Künstlerisch-Pädagogisches Profil

Lovro Peretić is a Croatian classical guitarist and educator with an extensive international career. He gained widespread recognition through his success at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) International Concert Artist Competition (USA) in 2022, where he won the first prize, followed by a 40-concert tour across North America. His professional path is further marked by over 30 awards at international competitions, including the Eurostrings Competition, which led to a concert and masterclass tour across Europe, and the Changsha International Guitar Competition in China. An active soloist and chamber musician, he performs regularly throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. His concert activity features appearances at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Musikverein in Vienna, and Kings Place in London, as well as major festivals like the Paris, London, and Koblenz Guitar Festivals. A significant part of his artistic work is dedicated to chamber music, most notably as a founding member of the Trio Evocación. In his native Croatia, he frequently appears with leading ensembles such as the Zagreb Philharmonic and the Zagreb Soloists. For his outstanding achievements, he was named Croatia’s Best Young Musician in 2023, receiving the prestigious "Ivo Vuljević" Prize. Lovro Peretić began his musical education under Xhevdet Sahatxhija, before earning his degree at the Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of Darko Petrinjak, where he was honored with both the Rector’s and Dean’s Awards. He later completed advanced studies with Judicaël Perroy in Lille and at the Haute École de Musique de Genève. His artistic work is documented through his debut solo album with Naxos Records (2023) and the album Evocación with DotGuitar (2020). At the Gustav Mahler Private University, his pedagogical approach integrates his performing experience with an interest in the physiology and biomechanics of guitar playing. In his teaching, he applies methodological insights regarding movement optimization and technical efficiency to provide students with a sustainable foundation for artistic development. His research in this field has been featured in the specialized publication GITARA (Croatian Association of Guitar Pedagogues - HUGIP) through his two-part series on posture and movement in guitar performance. He continues to share his expertise through masterclasses and guest teaching engagements at festivals and universities worldwide.
