Artistic Research Profil

Er studierte elektroakustische Komposition am Konservatorium von Padua, Italien, und Computermusik am Institut für elektronische Musik und Akustik (IEM) der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz (KUG). Derzeit promoviert er an derselben Universität an der Künstlerisch-Wissenschaftlichen Doktoratsschule (KWDS). Seine Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Feedback und komplexen Systemen, non-standard Klangsynthese, Emergenz, Ortsspezifität und algorithmischen Systemen für Musikkomposition und Improvisation.

Neben seiner Soloarbeit kollaboriert er in einer Vielzahl von Projekten, die von elektroakustischer Improvisation (Xyolo Nyote, Strip & Embellish, sun til threads) über Klanginstallationen im öffentlichen Raum (Klangnetze) bis hin zu augmentierten generativen Soundwalks (Hörselgång) reichen.

Von 2017 bis 2020 war er Research Assistant im künstlerischen Forschungsprojekt Algorithms that Matter (almat) am Institut für Elektronische Musik und Akustik der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz. An derselben Universität arbeitete er 2021 als Universitätsassistent an der Künstlerisch-Wissenschaftliche Doktoratsschule. An der GMPU ist er derzeit Research Associate im künstlerischen Forschungsprojekt Simultaneous Arrivals (simularr) und arbeitet als Universitätsassistent für künstlerische Forschung. Zusätzlich ist er wissenschaftlicher Berater im NextGenerationEU-Forschungsprojekt Enacting Artistic Research (EAR) an der Polytechnischen Universität Marken, Italien, wo er mit dem Research&Development-Team an der computergestützten semantischen Analyse von Datenbanken der künstlerischen Forschung arbeitet. Seit 2023 ist er Managing Officer der Plattform Research Catalogue (Society for Artistic Research).

At the same university he is currently pursuing his doctoral degree. His work deals with feedback and complex systems, non-standard sound synthesis, emergence, site-specificity and algorithmic systems for music composition and sound art.

Apart from his solo work, he collaborates in a variety of projects ranging from electroacoustic improvisation (Xyolo Nyote, Strip & Embellish, sun til threads) to sound installations in the public space (Klangnetze) and augmented generative soundwalks (Hörselgång).

From 2017 to 2020 he was Research Assistant in the Algorithms that Matter (almat) artistic research project at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. At the same university, in 2021 he worked as University Assistant at the Doctoral School for Artistic Research. At the GMPU he is currently Research Associate in the Simultaneous Arrivals (simularr) artistic research project, and he works as University Assistant for Artistic Research. He is also scientific advisor in the NextGenerationEU research project Enacting Artistic Research (EAR) at the Marche Polytechnic University, Italy, collaborating with the R&D team on computational semantic approaches to artistic research databases. Since 2023 he is Managing Officer of the Research Catalogue platform (Society for Artistic Research).
